Sustainable Tourism

Sustainable Tourism is tourism that leads to the management of all resources in such a way that economic, social and aesthetic needs can be fulfilled while maintaining cultural integrity, essential ecological processes, biological diversity and life support systems.

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce knows that the success of our business community and economy is tied directly to the health of our environment and community. Jackson Hole is one of the most beautiful places on earth, with stunning vistas and pristine wildlands, an abundance of wildlife, unparalleled recreational opportunities, authentic western heritage, and a vibrant cultural and local business community.  In order to protect, promote, and sustain these qualities and become a true sustainable tourism destination, Jackson Hole businesses, local government, and nongovernmental organizations have been implementing sustainability measures in our buildings and infrastructure, energy sources, operations, and logistics.  Importantly, our community is working together to protect and sustain what makes the experience of being here authentic and treasured for visitors and residents alike.

What is Jackson Hole Doing Now?
