Carl Daavettila went shopping at Jack Dennis Sports during Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole Day and came out with $400 in Chamber Bucks! Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole Day During SPLURGE was held on Saturday, December 5. More than 200 receipts worth $20,000 were collected from participating businesses.
The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce would like to thank the businesses and shoppers who helped to make Saturday a winning day for local commerce! For every $100 spent at a locally owned business, $68 comes back to the community and for every $100 spent at a locally operated national chain store $43 recirculates in the community. For every $100 spent outside Jackson Hole, $0 recirculates. These figures were taken from Entrepreneur.com.
The Chamber-driven "Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole" campaign is an instructive and advertising campaign that aims to:
- Educate consumers on the benefits of buying locally: more jobs, tax revenue that supports our trails, nonprofits, parks, community events, and an overall strengthening of the Valley's economy.
- Educate consumers on the wide range of products available here in Jackson Hole and encourage them to "Think Jackson Hole First" before going outside of our local economy to purchase products.
- Encourage local businesses to patronize local vendors and businesses when possible in recognition that by buying locally they are helping to recycle Jackson Hole dollars through our community and economy.
This campaign is being carried out in several different ways. We are running ads in the local media, promoting via The Lowdown, providing information on www.keepyourbucksinjacksonhole.com, providing window decals for our Member businesses and making available "Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole. Be Local. Buy Local." bumper stickers for the public.
We encourage Members to browse this site for campaign posters (11"x17"), the "Top 5 Reasons to Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole" merchant bag stuffer, current buy local ads, and the Top 10 ways to help make "Keep Your Bucks in Jackson Hole" a success. If you are unable to print off any of these materials please contact the Chamber for assistance.
