2019-2020 Chamber Annual Report

Chamber releases the 2019-2020 Annual Report, including an in-depth response to the community on COVID-19.

Reflecting upon the 2019/2020 fiscal year, the Chamber proudly shares a summary of the past year through our 2019-2020 Annual Report. The report illustrates everything the team worked on and accomplished in the past fiscal year, including a super summary of our response to COVID-19 to support our business community. We want to thank the committed staff, the involved board, and the support of our business members who helped us progress this year.

Over the past year, the Chamber has seen several triumphs, successes, and bountiful seasons though it was not without obstacles.

The year started strong with a record-breaking summer season, a very strong Fall Arts Festival, and a winter season delivering over 500 inches and many visitors. The Chamber successfully hosted 13 BOB's on special topics including but not limited to Professional Development Opportunites, Women in Business, and the Special Legislative Session. The team launched and supported #shoplocaljh, a local shopping incentive that promotes 10% home through Winter Windfall, where we saw a 30% increase in participation and then through 22local.com. Being a trusted and familiar resource and advocate, the Chamber attended 90% of Town/County meetings, produced regular economic insights and business indicators, and produced a successful Annual Awards Celebration

Come February, in the course of a few days; businesses began to face a bleak and uncertain future as COVID-19 announced the closing of all "non-essential business." Anna Olson, CEO and President, Rick Howe, Vice President, and the staff took on the new challenge of responding to COVID and supporting the membership in the face of unprecedented challenges by launching a comprehensive web resource for members and visitors and calling every member to inform them of the available tools including some of the following (though the 2019-2020 Annual Report includes them all)!

  • Virtual Business over Breakfasts set record attendance levels
  • Expert Webinars to help navigate financial programs available
  • Economic Recovery Task Force formed to help the Town and County work with the business community, creating a vision of what reopening the Valley looks like (Thank you to all who participated).
  • 22Local.com, a web platform for businesses to generate much-needed revenue in May.
  • Dedicated seven-day-a-week Visitor Service Commitment: The Chamber has been the only resource to provide much-needed information to Jackson's visitors, including operating seven days a week.
  • On top of it all, the Chamber has resourced and distributed over 600,00 makes to date.

It is with great pleasure that we share the 2019-2020 Annual Report with you.
