Jackson, WY Springtime Itinerary

Experience Jackson Hole in the Springtime, arguably, one of the best seasons in the valley.

As things quiet down in preparation for summer and snow-seekers mellow out and disperse, it allows us to see and hear things a little better. The neighborhood bears, bison, birds, and moose shake off their winter stupor and begin to get frisky in anticipation of summer. Soon the air gets that sticky feel, and you begin to see the buds on the trees; you know you're in for a real treat. Only then do you get to experience Jackson like a true local.

Springtime in Jackson Hole is a relaxing season with optimal opportunity for fun. Often dubbed the nickname mud season, we have put together the perfect springtime itinerary equipped with activities to get a bit dirty or not at all. Up to you to decide.

Women biking on Grand Teton Park Road

Get in gear, start the day off on wheels, hit our bike path, and get your blood pumping. We recommend cruising Teton Park Road on a bike, rollerblades, roller skis, or even by foot, perhaps with a furry friend.

*So exclusive! Cars aren't allowed on this road until May 1st. Pets are allowed but must stay on leash, and please bring mess bags!

Thaw out with a soak in the hot springs. Visit the new and improved Astoria Hot Springs roughly 11 miles south of town. They're open daily by appointment-- make a reservation.

Moose grazing in tall brown grass

Take a wildlife tour for an epic morning, afternoon, or a whole day of springtime wildlife viewing. Learn about the local ecology with experts and get the chance to experience America's Serengeti-- book a wildlife tour

Take yourself on a scenic tour of Yellowstone National Park. Starting April 16th, access Yellowstone through the West entrance to Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and Mammoth Hot Springs. Visiting Yellowstone this time of year is perfect because visitors are at a minimum, and the chance to see newborn wildlife is never more opportune.

If you're looking to stay a little closer to Jackson, take a scenic tour of the area. There so many excellent drives and views around Jackson, perfect for a photo opportunity or to listen to that playlist you just created. Take a look at what we've dubbed the "Top 6 Scenic Drives."

Grand Tetons with snow and blue skies

Learn more about the history of the Jackson Hole and the animal’s home to it at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The wildlife museum is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm through April 30th.

Jackson Hole Town Square famous antler arches

Arguably our favorite, a spa day! Enjoy renowned spas with extensive services and amenities. To name a few:

Finally, finish the day off with some shopping around town and a warm meal from one of our beloved eateries. Discover shopping, restaurants, bars, and family-friendly dining in the area. Some restaurants may have different or limited hours end of March - April, so we recommend calling ahead of time!
