Snow King

Snow King boasts 400 skiable acres with 32 groomed runs and a 1,571 foot vertical gain. The mountain sees 167 inches of snowfall on average and is referred to as The Local’s Mountain because of its proximity to town and every local’s heart.

Snow King is located conveniently in the town of Jackson. Hop on any one of START Bus’s in town transits to Snow King. Located roughly five blocks from Town Square, Snow King is in the heart of Jackson. It has two intermediate to advanced slopestyle and rail parks perfect for the adventurous skier/snowboarder.  

Go tubing with the whole family. King Tubes offers three groomed paths and a convenient tow rope. Ride the winter Cowboy Coaster and fly by skiers and snowboarders on this fun ski-hill thrill ride. Take the scenic chairlift for a fantastic view of the Tetons, National Elk Refuge, and Town of Jackson. They say you can even see Yellowstone on a bluebird day.

Grand Targhee

Grand Targhee is a year-round mountain resort that receives around 500 inches of power on average, annually. A lack of lift lines created a vast open paradise for the over 2,600 acres of skiable terrain. With a vertical drop of 2,270 ft, Targhee showcases five lifts and a summit elevation of 9,862 ft.

Grand Targhee is situated on the western slope of the Tetons in Alta, Wyoming, in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Located approximately 42 miles from Jackson Hole, the drive the Jackson Hole Airport is roughly 1.5 hours. Activities for families at Grand Targhee include their tubing park and arcade. They even offer a “Kids’ Night Out” program for after-hours care for kids under 12. Care providers keep the kids entertained while you enjoy a quiet, romantic evening.

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is on the bucket list of most avid skiers and snowboarders. Known for its famous terrain and a vertical drop of 4,139 feet, JHMR receives an average of 500 inches in snowfall yearly. The resort has 133 named trails featuring 13 lifts.

Located in Teton Village, JHMR is roughly 12 miles from the town of Jackson. START Bus is a popular form of transportation among locals and visitors. START bus runs routes within the town of Jackson, between Jackson and Teton Village, in addition to commuter routes from Star Valley, WY and Teton County, ID. Rides vary between $1-$3 one way depending on pick-up and drop-off locations.

The adventure seeker will be thrilled at Jackson Hole’s additional 3,000 acres of terrain, including but not limited to wide-open bowls, power fields, and steep, snowy chutes.

Features for families or people who don’t ski include shopping, food, and views. Jackson Hole has food to satisfy, including locally sourced delicacies nestled between designer boutiques. After dinner, rent some skates and hit The Village Ice Rink.

Are you looking for a romantic activity? Ride the aerial tram to Corbet’s Cabin and enjoy sweet or savory waffles while experiencing views you’ll never forget. Ski down or merely hop back on the tram for a relaxing ride back down to Earth.
