Just a little over a year ago, I was applying to be in this year's class of Leadership Wyoming. The application process for the class of 2021 is once again upon us, and submissions are due on April 1st, 2020.
The mission of Leadership Wyoming is to inspire Wyoming's leaders through exploration and connection while their vision is to allow Wyoming's leaders to cultivate deep self-knowledge of the State's communities, and industreis and choose to live with civility and respect.
If you have any interest in learning more about Wyoming or have the ambition to be an elected official or volunteer for a board, I'd highly suggest you consider this program. Since beginning the program in August of 2019, I have traveled to six different communities and will be heading to Lander next week and Sheridan for graduation in April.
During my time in the program, I have learned so much about Wyoming's communities and the issues they, and our State, are facing and have had the pleasure of interacting with some of the smartest, open-minded, thoughtful people that you can imagine.
The networking opportunities are endless with community receptions in each Town with state and local elected officials, alumni of Leadership Wyoming, and leaders in the community.
My favorite three things that I've done thus far while participating in the program are:
- Preg-tested a cow in Gillette
- Toured a Trona Mine in Rock Springs
- Did a ride-a-long in Casper.
We didn't get to fly in a Blackhawk in Cheyenne due to weather, but I'm sure that would have been up there as well.
If you are interested at all there is a recruitment event tonight, March 10th, at the Roadhouse Brewery at 5:30pm. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in attending.
