Zach Zimmerman: #humansofjhchamber

Zach Zimmerman, Jackson Hole Community Radio’s Station Manager, shares his story in this entry for #humansofjhchamber.

My original passion for radio came from growing up in the Bay Area. I was part of a radio program at a neighboring high school that involved students from the whole East Bay area. I got excited. I did shows through college and when I moved up here I was flipping through the radio dial and got word that KHOL was starting up, so I got involved. I’m now the Station Manager, as well as a dj. KHOL has about 60 volunteer DJs. It is constantly evolving and surprising me. You get everything from opera to heavy metal to hip hop to bluegrass to blues. You never know what you’re gonna hear. Right now this woman is hosting her very first show. She’s doing a psychedelic rock metal mixture. It’s fun! Something different! KHOL’s membership kicked off Aug 1st. We are Wyoming’s only independent community radio station and we don’t get any state or federal funding. Through our summer and winter drives KHOL raises over half of our funding.  So, we’re asking listeners and local businesses to show their support. Please call, click, or stop by!
