"No Words" by Connor Liljestrom Exhibit: October 9 – November 16 Curated by Agnes Bourne as part of the 2020 Creative in Residence: Sustain Opening Reception Friday, October 9, 5-6:30 pm "This new body of work has emboldened a free exploration of a variety of issues of personal interest. This singularly strange time in our collective history has brought to the fore an examination of various ideas and thoughts. These pieces have allowed me an opportunity to dive deeper into a wider swath of both connected and disconnected interests that I don't yet have the words to explain." – Connor Liljestrom About Connor Connor Liljestrom Graduated with a BA in fine art from the University of Wyoming in 2019, where he gained recognition through scholarship award, portfolio review, and residency selection. Since then, his works have sold out at solo exhibitions and been collected privately both nationally and internationally. His stand-out emergent success has supported the establishment of an exclusive partnership with New West Fine Art. His solo exhibitions with New West Fine Art include ‘The Last of The Old West’ (2020). His work references mythologies, Hollywood and pop culture, natural history, colonialism, and the canon of Western-centric art history. Liljestrom layers these references such that a platform for the viewer is created to either enter conversation centered around these subjects, or be introduced to them for the first time altogether. He works primarily in oil and mixed oil media. He lives and works in Jackson, Wyoming. The Center Theater Gallery EVENT TIME(S) 5:00 PM - Fri Oct 9, 2020 THE CENTER 240 S.
