Naval Aviator Jeff Montgomery will lead a three-part discussion on risk management for the backcountry skier/rider drawing on lessons from his career as a test pilot. This series is a Backcountry Zero event, an effort of the Teton County Search & Rescue Foundation to reduce fatalities and serious injuries in the local backcountry. These presentations will be virtual, from 7 - 8:30pm, on Feb 11, 18 & 25.

How do you manage risk while touring in the winter? Learn what aircraft carrier landings have taught a Naval Aviator about traveling in avalanche terrain. Jeff Montgomery currently works as a developmental test pilot and program manager for Test and Evaluation Squadron 31 and the F-18 Integrated Product Team. He has been flying for almost 30 years, logging over 5,000 hours military and civilian flight time with over 600 carrier landings. In his free time, Jeff has pursued many outdoor passions including sea kayaking, road biking, backcountry skiing mountaineering.
