Join us at one of two workshops the Town is hosting to increase awareness of and gather stakeholder input on rates and fees for water and wastewater service. The study has already benefitted greatly from advice and counsel from a representative group of residents on its Citizen Review Committee, and the Town is now seeking to broaden citizen and stakeholder involvement. To provide some background, late last year, the Town of Jackson began a water and wastewater rate and fee study. Raftelis, the consulting firm leading the study, is evaluating the Town’s current rates and fees and designing a rate structure to: • Maintain affordable access to essential water and sewer services while meeting other Town utility rate pricing objectives. • Equitably recover the cost of services, balancing multiple objectives, in proportion to the impact of service demands. • Generate sufficient revenue through rates and fees to sustainably fund the annual requirements to support the Town’s water and wastewater utility systems.
