Dear Chamber Membership,
It is with great sadness that we write to you about the tragic loss of Florence “Flo” McCall over the weekend. A resident of 30 years, Flo was a longtime member of the Jackson community and our own Chamber network.
Originally from Philadelphia, Flo studied History and Photography at the University of Colorado before launching a successful photography career in San Francisco, capturing leaders like Bill Gates and the city’s arts scene. She later moved to the Tetons, opening her first studio in Victor, where her community documentary work was displayed for 20 years. In Jackson, she founded Florence McCall Photography, becoming one of the region’s most respected portrait artists.
A Chamber member since the early 2000s, Flo was a regular presence at events, especially Chamber Mixers. Her warmth, energy, and ever-present smile made her a familiar and welcome face. She graciously hosted a Chamber Mixer at her studio, creating an inviting and inspiring space for local business owners to connect. More recently, she generously donated headshots to the Young Professionals of the Tetons (YPT) and the Chamber staff, continuing her legacy of uplifting others through her lens.
Flo was not only a gifted artist, but also a devoted mentor. She guided and encouraged many young photographers in Jackson, always sharing her time and insight freely. Her support extended to numerous nonprofit organizations and fellow Chamber members—her photographs helping elevate their missions and tell their stories with grace and impact.
Flo’s legacy lives on in the images she created, the lives she touched, and the community she helped shape. We are deeply grateful for her lasting contributions and the joy she brought to those around her.
In honoring Flo, we celebrate a life rooted in artistry, generosity, and community love.
With heartfelt remembrance,
Rick Howe & The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce Team
