FACTS ABOUT THE JACKSON HOLE AIRPORT

  • The Jackson Hole Airport was established by the town of Jackson at its present location in the 1930’s. At first, an unpaved landing strip was developed. But by the end of 1939, the site was selected and leased from the Bureau of Land Management, State of Wyoming, Jackson Hole Preserve, and Snake River Land Company.

  • It secured the Riverwind Foundation’s Business Emerald Sustainability Tier (BEST) level of sustainability performance. The certification standards are comparable to the world’s most rigorous and comprehensive environmental, community, and economic sustainability criteria.

  • They extend their commitment to sustainability to you and to everyone who flies in or out of the airport through the The Good Traveler program. It provides travelers an opportunity to offset their carbon emissions by contributing to certified offset projects such as restoring wetlands and growing forests.
