We proudly release the 2020-2021 Annual Report
In reflection of the 2020/2021 fiscal year, the Chamber proudly shares a summary of the past year through our 2020-2021 Annual Report. The report encompasses everything our team has accomplished in the past fiscal year and beyond.
As stated by this year's Board Chair, Adam Meyer, "the past year proved to be another whirlwind of challenges, surprises, and opportunities."
As summers continue to see record-breaking numbers and winters delivering inches upon inches of snow, the valleys visitation stayed at a steady incline. In response, the Chamber rose alongside community organizations to the task of minimizing the community spread of COVID-19.
To do so, the Chamber distributed roughly 1.3 million masks to local businesses and over 300K to visitors, and sanitizer was distributed by the caseload. We led meetings and discussions and distributed resources on best practices by industry and revised operations to give businesses tools for success amid the pandemic. As a result, we saw many stories of successful financial seasons and satisfied customers.
An essential part of the Chamber's mission is to advocate, educate, represent, and engage our membership on social and economic matters that impact them. In the past year, the Chamber served as a trusted source for advocacy of all kinds.
The Chamber continued to look for new ways to support the business community and the "Weekend Occupancy Straw Poll " was born with support from the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board (JHTTB). The Straw Poll distributed occupancy information gathered from local hotels and short-term rental companies and gave insight into expected visitation and business levels allowing businesses to properly prepare.
The Chamber continued to advocate and educate through conducting surveys on housing and employee retention, the results of which can are on page 8 of the report. The launch of the Chamber Webinar Series and Business Over Breakfasts turned virtual that saw record turnouts. Topics in these meetings ranged but were not limited to legislative updates, working from home, historic preservation dealing with stress in the workplace, transportation, and managing visitors.
None of this would be possible without our committed staff, the ever-involved board, and the support of our business members and community, who supported us and helped us move forward this year. We thank you all.
It is with great pleasure that we share the 2020-2021 Annual Report with you.
