If you've ever thought about taking an aerial tour of the Jackson Hole valley, I would highly recommend a scenic helicopter tour with Wind River Air. It's exhilarating! With the fall colors starting to peak, now is a spectacular time to go. 

My tour was on a glorious July morning. Calm winds and a bluebird day greeted my colleague and I as we boarded the helicopter at Jackson Hole Aviation, located just west of the Airport. 

Wind River Air offers 30 minutes Alpenglow or Family Tours, 45 min Adventure Tours, and 1 hour Grand or Wind River Mountain Escape tours. The company also does custom tours if you're feeling creative. 

 

Prices range from $180 to $360 per person, depending on the tour with a minimum of 2 people. Kids are welcome. 

I recommend siting up in the cockpit, which is where I volunteered (more like insisted) to sit. The pilot's left is nothing but air, and the view in front of you leaves you exhilarated. 

Our tour was 30 minutes and covered a lot. Tony flew us east toward the Gros Ventre Range, skirting the town of Kelly, ranches, and Shadow Mountain.
