The Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival isn’t just for collectors and gallery-goers. It’s a community-wide celebration filled with opportunities for families to experience art, creativity, wildlife, and Western culture together.

From creating their own artwork to hearing firsthand stories from a NASA astronaut, exploring public art, meeting artists, and visiting museums, families can build their own Fall Arts Festival itinerary with plenty to see and do. Here are some of the best ways to experience the festival with kids.

Jackson Hole Children's Museum

Friday, September 11 | 5:00–7:00 PM
Jackson Hole Children’s Museum

While parents explore downtown galleries during Palates & Palettes, kids can have an arts-filled evening of their own at Tiny Palates & Palettes at the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum.

Kids can explore the museum, play, create, and spend time together and enjoy kid approved bites, while parents enjoy the gallery walk. Local kids can also take part in the Children’s Museum art competition by creating their own original artwork.

Artwork can be created at the museum or made ahead of time and brought in for submission. Entries must be submitted by September 10, giving young local artists a chance to become part of the Fall Arts Festival celebration themselves.

Spots are limited and registration is required ahead of time, register here.

Make an afternoon of exploring Arts on the Green, an outdoor art fair that brings artists and the community together on the Center for the Arts Lawn.

Go on a Public Art Adventure

Mama Mimi

You don’t have to step inside a gallery to experience Jackson Hole’s vibrant arts scene.

Turn a walk through town into a family art hunt using the Jackson Hole Public Art Map. Search for colorful murals, sculptures, installations, and other creative works tucked throughout the community. Kids can choose their favorites, take photos along the way, or see how many pieces they can find.

Pick up a Public Art Map at the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce office at 175 E Deloney Ave. and start exploring.

Explore the National Museum of Wildlife Art

National Museum of Wildlife Art

Take the arts adventure beyond downtown with a visit to the National Museum of Wildlife Art.

Overlooking the National Elk Refuge, the museum offers another way for families to connect art with the wildlife and landscapes that make Jackson Hole special. Explore wildlife-inspired works together and see how artists have interpreted the natural world across different styles, mediums, and generations.

It’s an especially fitting stop during Fall Arts Festival for families looking to pair an art experience with Jackson Hole’s connection to the outdoors.

Make Fall Arts Festival Your Own

The best part about experiencing Fall Arts Festival as a family is that there’s no single way to do it. Create your own artwork, hear stories about space exploration from a NASA astronaut, discover sculptures around town, explore wildlife through photography, visit a museum, or meet artists on the lawn.

Jackson Hole was named the No. 1 most arts-vibrant community in the country in the 2025 SMU DataArts Arts Vibrancy Index, and Fall Arts Festival is an opportunity for visitors of every age to experience that creativity firsthand.

Plan a day, build a weekend itinerary, or explore throughout the festival and discover why art is such an important part of the Jackson Hole experience.
