Located just off the historic Jackson Town Square, Altamira Fine Art is one of Jackson Hole's most well-known art galleries. Specializing in Western Contemporary artwork, they are known for offering art exhibitions year-round, as well as monthly artist receptions.

With such an active schedule, they have cultivated a reputation for always having something new to see in their gallery, making a stop by when you're in Town Square well worth it. Altamira Art doesn't discriminate against mediums, either. They offer fine art from oil painting to acrylic, contemporary glass, and bronze, all the way to mixed media and digital art installations.

With such a wide array of fine art and mediums, it is no wonder that Altamira also hosts an eclectic roster of artists. Altamira Fine Art will have three artists in this year's Jackson Hole QuickDraw as a part of the 2023 Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, presented by JP Morgan Chase & CO.

The first, Geoffry Gersten, is an internationally represented painter based in Arizona. When Gersten paints, his signature style focuses on abstract expressionism and photorealism—a blend of hyper-realistic subject matter against a background of feeling. Spontaneity is a hallmark of his work. He will have a solo exhibition at Altamira Fine Art during the Fall Arts Festival titled "Silver Screens and Cowboy Dreams." Born out of a midnight epiphany, Silver Screens and Cowboy Dreams blends Western subject matter with pop art and 1930s film aesthetics. Silver Screens and Cowboy Dreams will run September 5 - 17, with a Meet the Artist night held on September 13th, 5 - 8 pm.

The second, Mary Roberson, is a painter who expertly blends impressionist and surrealist techniques. Born in Arkansas and raised in California, Mary's biggest inspiration in art is her pure love of nature. Now based in Hailey, Idaho, she often looks to nearby Yellowstone and Glacier National Park for inspiration. Altamira Fine Art will host her solo exhibition, "Relax," on September 5 - 17 during the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival, presented by JP Morgan Chase & Co. For Mary, she is often her own worst enemy when painting, hence in her view why the title of her upcoming show is Relax. She notes, "I find titles are usually about the artist. I'm telling myself to relax." Fall Arts attendees will have the chance to meet Mary at her Meet the Artist night at Altamira Fine Art on September 8th, from 5 - 8 pm.

The final Altamira Fine Art Artist who will be in this year's Jackson Hole QuickDraw is Travis Walker. Born in Tokyo, Japan, on an Air Force base, Travis Walker now resides in Jackson Hole, where he has lived and worked for nearly 20 years. His work has been featured in SouthWest Art magazine, Big Sky Journal, Mountain Living, Forbes, and the Guardian. He also founded the Teton Art Lab, an Artist in Residence program based in Jackson Hole. His solo exhibition, "I Keep What I Can of You," will be held September 5-17. I Keep What I Can of You memorializes Walker's connection to Jackson Hole and its throwback spots. Posted up on sidewalks throughout town, Walker lets the pieces develop as he engages with his subject matter and passerby, which allows stories to surface and memories to deepen. You can meet Travis Walker at his Meet the Artist night at Altamira Fine Art on September 8th from 5 - 8 pm.
