Torchlight Parades & Fireworks

Snow King Torch Light

Snow King Mountain Torch Light Parade & Fireworks

A beloved local tradition, Snow King Mountain’s Torch Light Parade is a can’t-miss New Year’s Eve experience.

  • Torch Light Parade: Approximately 7:00 PM

  • Fireworks: Approximately 7:30 PM, immediately following the parade

  • Best Viewing Area: Adjacent to the base of the gondola

Interested in participating?
The Torch Light Parade is open to expert skiers only, ages 13 and up. Participants must meet at the lodge room by 5:30 PM to receive tickets and sign waivers. A mandatory briefing takes place at 6:00 PM, with lift loading shortly after.

*Due to current conditions, the Snow King Torch Light Parade is only open to season passholders for 2025*

Important notes for participants:

  • No alcohol permitted on the lift or in backpacks

  • No personal fireworks

  • Dress warmly and wear clothing you don’t mind getting wax or torch drips on

  • All skiers must finish the parade together at the base

Fireworks follow once all skiers are safely down, making this a spectacular way to kick off the night.

  • Gondola Loading: 4:30–5:15 PM (Sweetwater Gondola)

  • Parade Begins: 5:30 PM

  • Glow sticks replace torches in this fun, kid-friendly tradition

  • No signup required

  • Kids should come dressed warmly with skis and boots (no poles)

  • Parents are welcome but not required to accompany participants

Torchlight Parade & Fireworks

  • The Torchlight Parade (JH Mountain School staff only) begins shortly after the Glow Worm Parade finishes, around 6:00 PM

  • Fireworks follow to help ring in the New Year slopeside in iconic Jackson Hole fashion

A New Year’s Eve favorite returns to the Virginian Lodge with The Deadlocks and special guests Melvin Seals, Kanika Moore, and Jeremy Hoenig.
