Town Square Lighting

The traditional kick-off to the holiday season in Jackson Hole is the annual Town Square Lighting Ceremony the day after Thanksgiving. Both visitors and locals alike experience the magic of the holidays as the Town Square and the historic elk arches are lit up, and revelers get to enjoy treats, cocoa, caroling, and the arrival of Santa in his big red firetruck.

Holiday Shopping Promotions

However, it is not just caroling, lights, and treats that mark the start of the season. It is also marked by the start of holiday shopping. Black Friday is the often-cited example of this. However, Small Business Saturdays, originally started by American Express to promote small businesses the day after Black Friday, has become an essential part of the holiday shopping experience.

Originally a one-day event, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and the Bank of Jackson Hole have expanded Small Business Saturdays to be hosted on the Town Square throughout December.  Every Saturday, you can visit our Holiday Information Center at the Stage Stop on the Town Square from 1 - 4 pm for information about events and shopping around town.  Enjoy holiday treats, hot cocoa, festive music, and the chance to win a weekly raffle!

To continue to support local shopping, dozens of local businesses have joined the Chamber of Commerce to present Winter Windfall, a promotion that will award 5 lucky shoppers with $1000 in local shopping cash! To enter,

  • Shop at a participating local business from now until Dec 19 at 3 pm.
  • After purchase, scan the QR Code at the business, fill out your information, and upload a copy of your receipt.
  • Alternatively, send a copy of the receipt to shop@jacksonholechamber.com. This method may also be used for online purchases at local businesses.

Five lucky winners will then be selected to receive $1000 in local shopping cash to be used at up to two participating local businesses! For rules, participating businesses, and how to enter, click here. All drawings will be made on the evening of December 19th.

Santa on the Square

Santa is coming to Jackson! Nine nights on the Town Square to be exact. From Dec. 16 - 24, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce welcomes Santa to the Stage Stop Building on the corner of Cache and Broadway from 5 - 7 pm.

Families will have the opportunity to meet with Santa, share their wishes, and take photos. While waiting, families can enjoy treats and cocoa from Santa's eleves; pets are welcome. Santa on the Square is presented by Scout Guide Jackson Hole and Austin O’Bryhim State Farm Insurance.
