Town Square SkatingLooking for a local adventure while visiting Jackson Hole? There are plentiful shopping, dining, and entertainment opportunities if you plan to stay close to downtown. Simply strolling around the Townsquare will help you get your steps in and see the beautiful shop fronts along the main streets of Jackson, WY. First and foremost though, go see the iconic antler arches! At every corner of the Townsquare is an arch constructed of real elk antlers that were collected after falling off the animal (fun fact: antlers only grow on male deer, elk, and moose and are shed and regrown EVERY YEAR). Do not hesitate to get a picture under the arch to mark the momentous occasion!

Shopping locally is a wonderful way to support the community you are visiting and purchase a variety of wistful souvenirs and useful instruments. Just a block off the Townsquare is the shop MADE, which focuses on selling locally crafted goods that provide unique Jackson Hole-themed gifts and trinkets to take home. If you are searching for something more utilitarian, such as warm or waterproof clothing, durable hiking boots, and camping gear, consider stopping by JD High Country Outfitters, Teton Mountaineering, Kuhl, or Skinny Skis. These stores profess in maintaining a stock of efficient outdoor gear that could help you make the most out of your visit.MADE 1

Perhaps you are seeking some Western-style clothing to sport around town? Especially since sitting in the saddle seats at the notorious Million Dollar Cowboy Bar wouldn’t be the same without a cowboy hat. Peruse locations like Beaver Creek Hat Company, Encounter Hat Company, GRIT General, JW Bennett, or the Overland Sheepskin Company for a superb variety of custom-fitted hats, belt buckles, fringe-accented jackets, skirts, and more! The most important part of exploring a beautiful place like Jackson is creating exciting and memorable experiences- the second might be getting the appropriate amount of Jackson Hole swag. Businesses such as Shirt Off My Back & the Moose Emporium will have all the t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, keychains, and ballcaps galore to choose from.

Some of the town treats don’t have to be taken home; they can be consumed on the spot! Sample the sweet and savory flavors of town at shops like Spirits & Spice sells gourmet vinegar, oils, spices, sauces, liquors, and liqueurs that can be sampled for free before committing to a purchase. Whether it be summer or winter, ice cream is a year-round treat. Even with winter being the region’s longest season of the year, Jackson is not lacking in the ice cream department. If exploring downtown and getting that craving, keep an eye out for Moo’s Creamery, Cream + Sugar Scoop Shop, or Hagen Daaz to assuage that chilly sweet tooth. If you have a sweet tooth but not a penchant for cold, check out Cocoa Love; this artisan chocolate shop offers hand-crafted small chocolates, slices of cake, delectable baked goods, and hot cocoa!

If sweet treats are not your cup of tea, consider filling that cup with whiskey. Specifically, whiskey curated in the state of Wyoming. Wyoming Whiskey has a tasting room just a block off the Townsquare, with a selection of distilled styles to sample and bottles of favorite flavors to take home!

Couple ShoppingIf you prefer to fill your cup with tea and not whiskey, Jackson has a variety of local coffee shops that can help! There is the aptly named Cowboy Coffee, which has served the Cowboy state fresh roasted coffee for more than 20 years. The elegant Persephone Cafe is another local and visitor hotspot for hot beverages; this business is also favored for its selection of fresh, hand-crafted pastries.

Snake River Roaster Company has produced coffee locally in Jackson Hole since 2007. In 2022, it opened its first physical location in downtown Jackson to provide yet another cozy cafe where customers can enjoy a latte, espresso, tea, and more!
