The following Friday, September 13, from 5-7pm, Altamira Fine Art will host the opening reception for Geoffrey Gersten's show, "Picture of a Cowboy." This exhibition highlights Gersten’s unique approach to Western themes, offering a playful mix of literal interpretations and cheeky elements that are sure to captivate viewers. Then, on Saturday, September 14, from 1-5pm, the gallery will host a QuickDraw Artist After-Party. This event will feature artists Geoffrey Gersten, Robert Moore, and David Frederick Riley, providing guests with the opportunity to meet the artists and view their latest works. The festival weekend concludes with a Sunday Art Brunch and Art Walk on September 15, from 11-3pm, where visitors can enjoy a relaxed morning of art, conversation, and delicious brunch fare as they explore the gallery’s offerings.
Altamira Fine Art is thrilled to have three of its distinguished artists—Geoffrey Gersten, Robert Moore, and David Frederick Riley—participating in this year’s QuickDraw. Gersten has been exploring new styles and techniques in his recent work, and his upcoming exhibition, "Picture of a Cowboy," is eagerly anticipated, blending the literal with the playful in Western art. The gallery is excited to see what innovative pieces he will bring to QuickDraw.
Robert Moore, a seasoned QuickDraw participant and mentor to many artists, is known for his vibrant use of color and high-keyed values, despite being colorblind. His work reflects his joy and inspiration from faith and nature, and his impressionistic oil paintings are expected to captivate audiences once again.
David Frederick Riley, with his powerful emotional depth in portraiture, has a unique ability to capture the essence of his subjects with a balance between expressionism and realism, making his work a compelling narrative on canvas. Observing his creative process during QuickDraw is always a highlight.
Altamira Fine Art invites both visitors and locals to explore the gallery and draw inspiration from its curated collection. A standout exhibition currently on display is the work of John Nieto, a leader in contemporary art and a true American icon. Through a direct partnership with his family and estate, the gallery is honored to showcase works from Nieto’s private collection. His distinct style, characterized by bold, expressive colors and deeply rooted in his cultural heritage, is a must-see for all art enthusiasts.
For Altamira Fine Art, the Jackson Hole Fall Arts Festival is more than just an event—it’s a celebration of Western Contemporary art and the gallery’s pivotal role within it. Each year, the festival helps to solidify Altamira’s position as a leader in the art market, increasing awareness of the gallery and its artists. The gallery hopes that when attendees reflect on their festival experience, Altamira Fine Art will be remembered as a highlight of their time in Jackson Hole. With an array of events and exhibitions, Altamira Fine Art invites everyone to join them for an inspiring journey through art and culture during the Fall Arts Festival.
