Each spring, Jackson Hole’s Town Square comes alive with one of the community’s most iconic traditions—ElkFest Weekend, a featured highlight of Old West Days. This 10-day celebration of Western heritage, community spirit, and local culture sets the stage for a vibrant start to the summer season.

From the world-famous Elk Antler Auction to live music, local food, and family-friendly activities, ElkFest Weekend offers an authentic and memorable Jackson Hole experience.

Held during Old West Days, Jackson Hole Restaurant Week invites you to explore the local dining scene. Over 30 local restaurants across Jackson and Teton Village offer special prix fixe menus featuring signature dishes and seasonal favorites. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover new restaurants or revisit longtime favorites.

 

Saturday, May 16: ElkFest in Full Swing

Elk Antler Auction

8 AM – 12 PM | Town Square

The centerpiece of ElkFest Weekend, the Elk Antler Auction is a one-of-a-kind Jackson Hole tradition. Thousands of naturally shed antlers collected from the nearby National Elk Refuge are auctioned in a lively and uniquely Western setting.

Proceeds support Scouting America, making this event both meaningful and memorable.

Scouting America Expo

8 AM – 12 PM | Town Square

Held alongside the auction, the Scouting America Expo adds an interactive and educational element to the day. Featuring hands-on activities, demonstrations, and informative exhibits, it offers something for all ages.

Vendor Marketplace

8 AM – 12 PM | Town Square

The vendor marketplace features a diverse selection of regional and national vendors offering antlers, bison skulls, and other Western-inspired goods. It’s a unique shopping experience and a key part of ElkFest.

Old West Hoedown

7 PM – 10:30 PM | Virginian Lodge Courtyard

Virginian Saloon

Celebrate 45 years of Old West Days with a lively hoedown featuring line dancing lessons from 307 Dance Hall and live music from local band Possum Queen. Guests can enjoy food and drinks from Billy’s Burgers in a relaxed, open-air setting. This event is open to all ages (Virginian Saloon is 21+).

Sunday, May 17: A Flavorful Finale

High Noon Chili Cook-Off

Close out ElkFest Weekend with the High Noon Chili Cook-Off. Local participants serve up their best recipes as visitors sample, vote, and enjoy the festive atmosphere. It’s a fun and flavorful way to experience Jackson Hole’s strong sense of community.
